Frequently Asked Questions

Classes

Q. How are Tikes and Mites classes different?

A. "Tikes" classes are Parent Participation classes that focus on gross motor skill development and incorporate rhythmic songs and games. "Mites" classes are child-only classes that are geared for learning fundamental gymnastics, as well as listening and social skills.

Q. What kind of qualifications do the coaches have?

A. Our coaches have specific youth gymnastics training, which includes knowledge of physical and emotional development as well as gym safety and spotting. Most coaches have recieved CPR and First Aid certification.

Q. Do I have to pay the membership fee to sign-up for classes?

A. Yes, the membership fee is required for enrollment in all classes and is good for the whole family for an entire year from the date that it is paid.

Q. What do I get with my membership?

A. Being a member allows you two free open gyms per session, birthday party and camp discounts and other exclusive member class promotions.

Q. What are Open Gyms and how do I use them?

Open Gym is held several times a week and open for all ages. Each enrolled child is entitled to two free Open Gyms (and $10 for each Open Gym thereafter). Children under 3 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.  Open Gym is a free structure time and does not follow a lesson plan. Please call to reserve space in Open Gym.

Q. What are the coach to student ratios in classes?

A. We are always conscious of our ratios for safety and personalized attention. Our ratios vary by age.

Tikes -1:14

MiniMites and most Mites Combo - 1:6. DynoMites and Sports - 1:7.

Stars - 1:8.

These are maximum capacities of classes and very often our ratios are lower than this.

Q. Do you offer any sibling discounts?

A. Yes, when you sign-up your children for a full session (8 weeks) we apply a 10% discount on the second, third, etc. Pro-rated tuition is not eligible for discount as it is already discounted.

Q. Can I bring a non-enrolled sibling to class?

A. Siblings may participate in an age-appropriate class provided that there is space. Drop-ins are $20 per child per class. Young siblings in a parent participation class must remain in a stroller, car seat or baby pack. Older siblings that are unable to participate in class may observe from the lobby. Although we have activities for waiting siblings we do not have designated supervision.

Birthdays

Q. How many children can attend my child's birthday party?

A. Your birthday party includes up to 20 children. However, if you wish to have additional guests, we can accommodate a maximum of 30 children.

Q. Do parents have to stay?

A. Parents of children under 3 are required to stay with their child in the gym. Parents with children 3 and up are welcome to stay, but may also drop off provided they leave their contact information with the front desk.

Q. Do you always have the bounce-house blown up?

A. The bounce-house, cable ride and rock wall are all included and supervised during specific times throughout the party.

Q. Can I bring food?

A. You are welcome to bring any snack, drinks or food for the party. There are no food or vendor restrictions. We provide fruit punch and water for your children and adult guests.

Q. What goods are provided in the party room?

A. Purple and/or green plates, cups, napkins and table cloth are provided with your party package. If you would like to do a themed party, you are welcome to bring signs, table settings, etc. to be set up. We also have serving and eating utensils, including a lighter for candles.

Q. Is 30 minutes in the party room enough to eat and open presents?

A. We are flexible about how to structure your party room time. If you would like to do food, cake and presents we recommend bringing the children in from the gym 5 minutes earlier. Some parties elect to pack up and open presents at home, which will leave you more time to do food and cake. We understand that this decision is personal and suggest you talk to your party instructors.

Q. What if I go over/under the expected count?

A. You will only be charged for the children that show up and participate in the birthday party. However, the number that you communicate to us prior to your birthday party is critical in staffing and we appreciate your assistance in this.

Q. What if I have a wide age range attending my party?

A. All ages are welcome to attend your birthday party. Accommodating a wide age range of children at a Gymtastic! party is extremely common. We have games and activities for all ages .  All children playing on gym equipment will be included in the party count.
