Classes
Q. How are Tikes and Mites classes different?
A. "Tikes" classes are Parent Participation classes that focus on gross motor skill development and incorporate rhythmic songs and games. "Mites" classes are child-only classes that are geared for learning fundamental gymnastics, as well as listening and social skills.
Q. What kind of qualifications do the coaches have?
A. Our coaches have specific youth gymnastics training, which includes knowledge of physical and emotional development as well as gym safety and spotting. Most coaches have recieved CPR and First Aid certification.
Q. Do I have to pay the membership fee to sign-up for classes?
A. Yes, the membership fee is required for enrollment in all classes and is good for the whole family for an entire year from the date that it is paid.
Q. What do I get with my membership?
A. Being a member allows you two free open gyms per session, birthday party and camp discounts and other exclusive member class promotions.
Q. What are Open Gyms and how do I use them?
Open Gym is held several times a week and open for all ages. Each enrolled child is entitled to two free Open Gyms (and $10 for each Open Gym thereafter). Children under 3 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Open Gym is a free structure time and does not follow a lesson plan. Please call to reserve space in Open Gym.
Q. What are the coach to student ratios in classes?
A. We are always conscious of our ratios for safety and personalized attention. Our ratios vary by age.
Tikes -1:14
MiniMites and most Mites Combo - 1:6. DynoMites and Sports - 1:7.
Stars - 1:8.
These are maximum capacities of classes and very often our ratios are lower than this.
Q. Do you offer any sibling discounts?
A. Yes, when you sign-up your children for a full session (8 weeks) we apply a 10% discount on the second, third, etc. Pro-rated tuition is not eligible for discount as it is already discounted.
Q. Can I bring a non-enrolled sibling to class?
A. Siblings may participate in an age-appropriate class provided that there is space. Drop-ins are $20 per child per class. Young siblings in a parent participation class must remain in a stroller, car seat or baby pack. Older siblings that are unable to participate in class may observe from the lobby. Although we have activities for waiting siblings we do not have designated supervision.
